Experience, first

No race, no stress.

The Grand Escape is an adventure that values personal experience rather than competition.

This experience invites participants to immerse themselves in the beauty of the journey, enjoying the sights, local cultures, and new friendships rather than focusing solely on the sporting outcome.

The goal is to slow down from the daily routine, experience each moment, and build a sense of community among cyclists, who together share challenges and stories.

By fostering a passion for cycling in a mutually supportive context, The Grand Escape turns each ride into a memorable and enriching experience far beyond mere competition.

What is waiting for you on the Route

We have created a 600 km route with 7500 meters of elevation gain entirely on secondary asphalt roads that will show you the best that Tuscany has to offer to a cyclist.

When you start on September 28 from Castagneto Carducci, the scent of the sea will accompany you for the first few kilometers, leading you to the unspoiled nature of the Maremma.

You will then encounter cities built on volcanic rock, roads through hills, the hidden panoramas of Tuscany, and postcard-like small villages. Even the most famous cities of Tuscany will be a stop on your journey: sit in Piazza del Campo in Siena or admire the cathedral of Florence from your bike.

It’s a unique and authentic way to experience a Tuscany that “normal” tourists will never see.

Only you and your travel companions will experience this adventure. You will face 600 km of pure beauty on secondary roads with little or no traffic.

And the route? We will send it to participants once registrations are closed, but we will provide a preview soon. Subscribe to the newsletter to receive it when we publish it.

The Grand Escape is defined as a “no-stop” event in the sense that there are no fixed stops but each participant can freely decide where to stop, to eat and to sleep along the way. Our advice is to study the route before leaving in order to get an idea of the possible stops that you will make. There are plenty of hotels, shops and restaurant along the route.

Is technical assistance provided by the organization during the event?

The Grand Escape Tuscany is an unsupported event. This means there is no technical assistance provided on the route. Participants are responsible for their own repairs and maintenance. Carrying your normal everyday tool kit is more than enough and there are many bike shops along the route.

How do I find facilities along the way to eat and sleep? Do you have any agreements with some facilities?

We have no agreements along the way. The best way to find a place at the best price is to take advantage of the technology and, in particular, use Booking.com and Google Maps. The offers that you will find on these two websites are the best in absolute and we would not be able to get these offers even with a possible agreement. Google Maps allows you to understand where an accommodation facility is and how many kilometers separate you from it while booking.com allows you to book online.
